First Things First

We welcome new and existing elected members to this workshop with a twist!
Hear from Bob Abbott, former Mayor and Councillor for Noosa Shire and Sunshine Coast Regional Council, Greg Hallam, CEO of the LGAQ, an elected member panel and industry update by Simone Talbot.
This workshop will provide a candid overview of local government and what you need to consider now you are an elected member.
There will also be great opportunities to network and learn from other elected members.
Lunch will be provided at the conclusion of the workshop.
The workshop will run from 10am to 12.30pm and conclude with lunch.

10-10.15am: Welcome from Greg Hallam
10.15-11.15am: First things first – managing your priorities and things to consider now that you’re an elected member facilitated by Bob Abbott
11.15-11.50am: State of the State including an industry update from Simone Talbot
11.50am – 12.20pm: Panel – Lessons learned and advice for elected members
Panellists’: Jo McNally, Deputy Mayor at Southern Downs Reginal Council, Gail Godwin-Smith, Deputy Mayor at Central Highlands Regional Council, Bob Abbott, former Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Sunshine Coast and Noosa Councils, and Simone Talbot, Manager, Roads, Transport and Infrastructure for LGAQ.
